I know, or knew, a few people holding off on the white iPhone 4. But people may hold off until the iPhone 5

the white iPhone 4 has to at least be faster or have a better camera or something. It cant just be the same phone from a year ago

^LOL, yah, people are holding off until the iPhone 8.

Yes, the white iPhone 4 will be the same phone from a year ago, what makes you think it will be better specs?

Apple's probably gone to DEFCON 1 after last year's prototype theft, so the iPhone 5 is delayed because everything is taking longer due to security clearances.

I would say DEFCON1, but 5 will still come out at the normal time. I think the rumor mill is going to be far less useful this year, after what happened with the prototypes and rumors last year. I have no doubt Apple is being even more secretive for possibly even going back to spreading false rumors themselves.

That said, I wouldn't expect much upgrade for the 5. Maybe faster cpu/gpu, 8mp rear cam, universal radio, antenna tweak. Other than the antenna, those are really minor changes, despite what spec-whores will say. Maybe LTE for Verizon, but that doesn't seem too likely right now since ATT and others don't have anything ready for 4G.

Email address is required to send me shipping notifications, and iTunes receipts. A Physical address and phone number is required to ship me their hardware I buy and verify which country's App Store I can shop in.

FT needs my address for what, now? I'm not subscribing to the print edition.

Why do Apple need an address and phone number to register for free memberships, such as the free developer programmes? An email address and name is good enough. They certainly don't need a phone number - if Apple want to contact they can email. At least, make the address and phone number optional...

Now there's an idea for a new Ramen Noodle flavoring packet. :o

Perhaps, for Nissin Ramen and Cup o' Noodles. It will hide the taste of the cardboard that Nissin call noodles.

Don't bother Apple. Work on something else.

    You mean like here:

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=9159034&postcount=1

I think it is a way that Apple can earn more money from the App Store.
A cheap cash in for Apple, as the iPad simply is a pregnant iPod touch. And it lacks multitasking, java and flash.

I do not think Apple have really thought about this one. It's a half baked product, rushed out. If they had included flash, java and multitasking support, this may have been a winner, but now it just looks like an overpriced eReader.

When the rumour of a Tablet Mac was released I imagined a touchscreen iMac, not a bloated iPod touch.

    Flame away. :p

Apple should simply look at your posts and do the opposite. Success guaranteed.

    Hiya folks

I have a 1tb usb drive pluged into my airport extreme. I can see the drive just fine, it's mounted on my desktop right now. But I want to get Time Machine to use it for backups... But when I try to set up time machine, it doesn't list the network drive in the list. So is there a way I can get it to work? Or will I just have to plug the drive into my Mac instead (which I don't wanna do)?

But I'd also rather someone rot in prison for 50 years. But then again, it's like a holiday camp in prisons here. Playstations, internet, TV. The UK is a complete and utter joke. We're the laughing stock of the world. We're so scared of human rights, we bend over backwords for any prisoner. I'm SO happy that common sense what introduced for prisoner votes.
    (

yes, it sure seems nice in those prisons.

Even if it where true, what's wrong with treating prisoners humanely? Shouldn't we try to rehabilitate prisoners so if they are released they don't commit another crime? And in the US at least prisoners can't vote, could you show a source saying that they can it the UK?

It may be from the weakening ( or collapsing) USD, and Apple increasing prices to AT&T. Then again, it may be sheer greed.

I'm from the UK, where capital punishement was abolished in 1969. Here in the UK we would love capital punishement to be reintroduced, a life for a life as they say. But it makes me wonder how someone can play god. Of course people who have murdered other people are kind of playing God, but in most cases, these attacks are not pre-planned, and really messy. Most murders are in defence or panic, also a lot of pre-planned. But someone playing God, deciding who lives and dies, I think it's kind of crazy sometimes. How can anyone be allowed to play god, how can 1 human, or 12 humans decide if another human dies in a controlled way. But I do agree that if you take a life, your life should be taken. But it still makes me think lots about it, I was in really deep thought about it a few nights ago. Here in the UK the law is fail, 2 years for killing someone. No common sense here in the UK.

    Yeah, MAY have. That's hypothetical.

But it was treason. There is a good reason that was a capital offense. The scale of death and misery that can be dealt through effective treason is far greater than than even a spray of bullets. If you support capital punishment, you should be in favor of hanging a traitor.

For that matter, why not Madoff? The effects of his mischief harmed far more people than even Manning. Why should he be spared the chair?

TJ Maxx isn't selling them at a loss. TJ Maxx however is diluting the perceived value of the iPad. That's something all manufacturers -- not just Apple -- look to protect.

It's exactly why Amazon forces you to put some things in your cart to see the price. Amazon can't advertise a product below Price X, according to their agreement with the manufacturer. If they did, Amazon would be diluting the perceived market value of the product, which would force other resellers to follow suit. This forces the market price lower, and then resellers start putting pressure on the manufacturer to lower THEIR price (to resellers) so the retailers/resellers can maintain healthier margins.

It turns into a race towards the bottom, where a product gets commoditized. Manufacturers try to avoid that at all costs, because they only have a few products where they can sell at a high-margin or premium, for so long, before competition creates a pressure to drive the price down.

Apologies if this has been asked in the past. I've got an album i downloaded a couple of years back in iTunes (Just found it in my purchase history)

Would I be charged for redownloading this, or would it be free in the same way I've done it with paid apps?

    Thanks.
