If you are in the Finder, the "cut" option is disabled so because otherwise if you actually selected "cut", whatever file or application was selected would be removed from the window/desktop, and placed in the clipboard. That wouldn't be a good idea, as if you then cut or copied something else, the first item would be deleted for good.
However, if the selection in the Finder is the text of the name of a file or application, then you can "cut", as that's just affecting the name and not the actual file.
I hope I've been clear enough.
I guess Apple decided that allowing people to "cut" files and application's would be too risky. I tend to agree with them, if you want to trash something, there are better ways.

My IPhone is a Verizon 4g and it fits perfectly.
The vibrate switch is definitely not perfectly cut out!
I don't particularly like clear-back cases as they get scratched really easily which makes them look bad!

Really want the new Macbook Pro, but I can't quite afford it at the moment. I know Apple include several smaller refreshes under the radar between major updates like the current one, but I'm not quite sure how far apart they come.
Also, at the moment they have the boring printer offer when you buy a system, anyone know how often the free iPod offers come around instead?
Cheers!

i would go with the pro b/c of the greater memory, and more space for the downloadable content on XBL, and plus the HD is 20 vs $50USD for the 64mb memory card.

Does anyone have a really nice presentation built with Apple's Keynote that I can show to my Microsoft Powerpoint advocates? I really would like a presentation that would blow powerpoint out of the water. I looked on apple's site for a demo but found a "How to use" video. If anyone has one please post or email me the keynote file.
Thanks!

Actually you can accomplish this through Javascript. Take a look here:
http://blog.deconcept.com/code/overflowsafari/overflowsafari.html
It took me a while to get it working thanks to my JS stupidity but it does work.

...For a newbie
I ordered Dreamweaver from apple.com and it should arrive in a day or so.
I have Dreamweaver MX for Dummies but I wonder if there is another good book that you recommend.
Also, is the book that comes with the program any good?
Thanks !

I just bought a VGA cable for my 360 so my Wii can finally take it's permanent place using my sole component port on my lil LCD TV.
But I havea few little issues with it. My TV's actual resolution is 1440 x 900 so I figured that the 360 wouldn't offer that in it's resolution so I have it set as 1280 x 720. It works pretty decently. When I watch dvd's that are in 4:3 (like The Simpsons) it has the black bars on the side. I have to manually tell it to stretch it each time I click on an episode in which is a pain in the ass. It never used to do this with component. Any way around this?
Plus the colour quality is a little worse off. It looks a lot whiter I guess, kinda washed out a bit. I played with the colours and got it looking pretty close to how I had it with the component but it's just not quite there.
Any advice on how to make it look it's best? I haven't tried it with games yet, just with a few demo's I have on the system.
Get a TV calibration DVD and run through it to calibrate your TV's VGA input. Should get your color issues fixed. No clue about the black bars, except maybe chose a widescreen resolution on the 360 and let the TV scale that instead.

Phone is in very good condition. As far as I can tell, there is only one imperfection on the screen which is a small scratch in the lower right that can be seen in the last photo.
eBay leads me to believe this goes for somewhere in the $200 range so feel free to make an offer via PM.

I am a novice with computers in general, but mac especially. I have an imac running OS X 10.6.4 and a macbook pro running 10.4.11. I am interested in updating the macbook. Can someone please give me the low down on these operating systems, and the best/economical way to update my macbook?? Do I really need to do this yet? Or is the 10.4.11 still a functional option for most things?? I also have a copy of parallels software. What do I gain by using this program? Is it worth the install, or are there currently better options? Thanks for any help, and please try to 'dumb down' the responses so that I will be able to understand :D. Thanks

IIRC, the difference in performance between the 2.8GHz and the 3.2GHz CPUs only gave around 10% difference in performance. With the cost and hassle of attempting an upgrade would not be worth it.
You would be much better served by upgrading your memory, GPU or replacing your system drive with an SSD.
Which upgrades are needed (if any) depends on your circumstances and the current configuration of your system. Adding an SSD would likely give you the most bang for the buck over any CPU upgrade in your system.

Erm... that's pretty racist.
Doesn't the feared race have to actually exist for the fear to qualify as racist?

I'm assuming that you mean you just created a blank HTML page and then inserted a banner graphic and then some "buttons" without any CSS or table elements.
You will need either CSS or a Table to hold the banner and the buttons and the text area if you want to have anything other than just a stack of elements running down the left side of the page. Dreamweaver has a number of predefined templates you can play around with when you create a new page.
Hi
Thanks for the reply, so would I just insert a clear table and just insert the buttons banner and my scrolling text in a row?
Thanks again for the help
David

Gosh I hope not. It's less than a year old.
Well, if it's less than a year old, it should be under warranty. Better it breaks now, than at the start of Month 13...!

Thanks for the suggestions. I did cut out a few frames, and I also brought it down to 4 colours in grayscale. It's under the limit now, I've updated my original post accordingly. For some reason, watching it on a web browser is much slower than in the Adobe suite. I'm not fussed though.
