Cool! Thank you! I think there were actually several variations of that one, too. I tried looking it up in the wayback machine but it didn't have it.

This is a fictional switch story, based on what could happen in reality.
I have been using PC's since i was two years old. I loved how they worked. That was until Windows XP came out. That disgustingly buggy OS which caught a virus a week, killing off my files like shoppers do to end-of-season sales.
My school computers have always been PC's, and we are using old IBM POS's. Well, lucky for me, i just happened to do what I had always wanted to do.....
My friend and i were discussing our life dreams. His, being shallow, was to Xerox his butt. Mine, being slightly less shallow, was to throw a school computer out a window and see the horrified look on the librarian's face before she screeched.
Well, my friend came into school one day and said "hehe, I accomplished my dream... omg I Xeroxed my BUTT!"
It was then my turn.
That awful laptop crashed for the fourth time during Word processing, and that's when I'd had just about enough. I picked up the computer in a rage, quickly opened the second story window and tossed it to the concrete floor below.
My librarian had that same look of horror i had pictured, and I just had to catch it on my camera phone. It was brilliant, and i'd post it today, but her face is too horrible to look at. Oh fine, I'll post it:
*censored for your sanity and eyesight, and in case you have a mirror in the room*
Well, you want to know what i told her? I told her that her face looked like the blue screen of death, and that it matched the computer. you know what she said? "I have always wanted to do that, you are my hero!"
Next week, our school got a grant for macs. And my parents bought me an iBook. No more blue screens of death, only the blue screen of aquatic function. How soothing.

Not that I'm aware of.
I have a data SIM from 3 (UK) in my iPad, that has a hefty allowance and I don't use anywhere near that allowance.
So I was wondering if I could use it to tether to my laptop to connect to wirelessly when I go to jobs, which would mean I could ditch my mobile BB dongle.
Technically there are two question here, does the iPad support this feature, or can it be enabled, (yes) may require you to jailbreak your iPad to install MyWi, and 2) does your carrier permit or allow this feature. My understanding is that some carriers enable this option within the iOS features, others do not enable it. Depending on the version of iOS running on your iPad there were some websites that would enable it with a change of your provisioning setting. If you were on 4.x I believe... I know that MyWi worked for me last year...
So to answer your question yes it can be done, and I personally don't know what the reaction of your carrier would be, when I ran it on iOS 3.x my carrier didn't seem to be aware of me running it... I had an unlimited data plan and did not use vast amounts of data....

The problem is solved, thanks to "Dashcode for Dummies" :-)
But my next problem is, that I would like to implement a search function on my site. How do I do this?
Any good tutorials for this problem?
Best regards!

My only prior Apple experience was in grade school with the ][e (those were the days :p ), gotta love that green text and The Oregon Trail was one of the best computer games ever. I used DOS at home(ok, I didnt "use" it I just cd to a game directory) and then Windows when it became decent(95). I switched to Linux on my x86 box and only used Windows for certain games. Never much liked Windows, nothing exciting. I love Linux though and the whole unix philosophy.
I needed a laptop recently and decided to go with a Powerbook 1ghz for the form factor, design, and to give OSX a whirl, I always admired OSX since it was first shown to the public and the fact that its unix-like was the nail in the x86 coffin for laptop choice.
Needless to say my experience has been positive, from unpacking the box to firing up the OS. It gives me the best of Linux(unix stuff) and the best of Windows(games, office, photochop, audio applications).
Ive used everything under the sun and I must say that OSX is the best looking desktop environment by far and the graphics acceleration is icing on the cake.
The only negative has been lack of configurability, Linux absolutely rules here. Still though I guess that can be a plus too as it keeps things simple and clean.
On a scale of 1-10 I give my Mac a 9.9 :)

600+ views and no replies. If this is all a work of my imagination, I might need to go patent it now as it's a good idea. If not however, has anyone remembered by chance?

I love Notebook view for taking notes in class. However, I do prefer pencil and paper and my own style of shorthand.
In writing essays and reports, draft view is best for me.

I think it would be good to list a track with links to both albums (noting whichever is the original with an asterisk or something) unless the later version has been remastered and sounds different.

Have it done by a card printer. It is worth it, if you are using these cards as a representation of yourself.

It may be a member site and not a site for consumers. I don't know, it is sparse but there is a link for logging in, so that leads me to believe its for franchisees or something.

I'd imagine the logo on Apple TV to be some kind of Vector, or some amalgamation that doesn't have the shading effects due to it needing to be displayed on different colours of background.
Thats my *guess*. I don't think its a whole new logo.

I'm looking to buy a new MacBook Pro. I know searching on eBay is risky, so I'd like your advice on this seller.
http://cgi.ebay.ca/New-Apple-Macbook-Pro-15-2-0-Quad-8gb-256ssd-Mc721ll-A-/230614412979?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63#ht_952wt_907
The price seems a little too low for a new (I assume never opened) MBP. Do you think some parts were switched out for cheaper replacements? He does have 99% positive reviews, and he's sold MBP before.
Thanks, Hopefully this post does not violate the terms and conditions of these forums.
EDIT: I took a second look and realized that I was looking at a non high res. model. I guess the price seems pretty decent. What do you guys think?
