I have a 20 gig iPod I wish to sell. Its the slimmest of the 4Gs. It is the trusty B&W. I'm looking to sell it or trade it for a 5G iPod or 1 GB RAM for Pb.

I dloaded that iphone3,1_4.3.2.zip file. (which was selected when I picked the iphone4, 4.3.2 selection. When I unzip it, there is no .ipsw in it. all I find is a bunch of .dmg files and other folders.
Change the file name from 4.3.2.zip to 4.3.2.ipsw

What OS do you have on it?
Go find a two-year-old networked HP LaserJet. HP has had amazing support for older OSes, supporting OS 9 long after everyone else had abandoned it. And being networked, you don't need to worry about the lack of 8-pin serial. Or just about any HP with a "JetDirect External Print Server" box will do as well.
(A quick search turns up many older HP laser printers for sale at reasonable prices.)

File sharing over Ethernet should work.
Other options would be to use a PC Card (Cardbus) USB or FireWire adapter and an intermediate external HD to transfer the files.
Edit: just thought of another option: remove the HD and use an external IDE to USB case (or cable adapter, IDE to USB). Then you can just use it as you would any other external USB drive.

sounds like you should give apple a bug report, or find out if the service is active in lion...

Hello Macheads,
So I bought a new mac mini about a year ago, I kinda regret purchasing it because i never use it I primalry use my laptop. So I was thinking about turing the mac mini into a small server. So my question is.... Is the mac mini suitable as a small server to say host a web site, or be a small file server, and is it suitable to be turned on 24/7 365 a year?

The dock is pointless because you can just plug it into your keyboard unlike the other iPods. Get the case. ;)

I can't figure out what the current avatar is doing. Biting something? Spitting something out? And what is it?
It's fascinating to watch though.

:rolleyes:I gave you one possible solution. If you don't like it, that's not my problem. Why don't you learn to use the search function since you're not getting the answer you want?
Your answer sounded sarcastic. Not sure if u meant it to be.

I'd love to see the Tea Party try that. :p Could you imagine the majority leader losing his seat at a time when his party doesn't have the Senate or Presidency? That would be such a huge blow.
And who knows if a teabagger could win in Boehner's district.

Hey recently hacked my 1st gen atv, and i went to add sharing files with smb, and decativate afp, and EVERY TIME I CLICK AFP MY MAC PRO completly freezes!
i mean the mouse is seen moving but i cannot use it, nor can i access anything at all!
i went to work tonight, and left it hoping it was just talking afp a long time, and low and behold, 10 hours later, it is still frozzen and i have to do another hard reboot!
already reset pram and nothing helped
any thoughts or suggestions on how to fix this?
might have posted this in the wrong thread?
thanks

I DL'd "iPhone3,1_4.3.2_8H7.bundle" and put it in the Contents/Resources/FirmwareBundles/ directory in the Pwnage Tool package.
I DL'd the file "iPod3,1_4.3.2_8H7_Restore.ipsw" and placed on my desktop, but Pwnage Tool keeps giving the "Wrong firmware bundle selected" error.
The problem is bolded above.

Ooops, yeah, late 2009. My bad.
So the speed improvements are mostly theoretical for my average use, but in the end I guess we all love the feeling of a brand new iMac …

I did it on both my iPhone and iPad screen protectors. Helped them go on nicely. No bubbles on iPhone, but the iPad one had a couple. fixed them right up with the scotch tape trick.

3am. Yikes.
I was thinking 530am would be good enough at UTC. I have a work meeting at 9am in Sorrento Valley. Perhaps I'm going to have to wait for iPhone 4. :(
I was just at the store, and there were already 6 people lined up to camp for the night! But I have a feeling that if you're there when the store opens, you should be fine. I really think this is all hype.
Fashion Valley won't let people line up until 5 am, so I'm thinking that might be a better bet.

Objective-C doesn't have class variables. At all. Google objective-c class variable and see what comes up.
File-scope statics work. So do statics defined in a function or method. Exactly like C.
